Malaysia has a large Chinese population and has preserved many ancient and intact Chinese religious cultures. Among them, the Da Shi Ye of Yu Lan Festival is a particularly distinctive deity. In Bukit Mertajam, Penang, there is a huge papier-mâché statue of Da Shi Ye, which is truly impressive.
