Matishree Paija is a 101 year old lady living in Narchyang Village, a small traditional farming village that nestles in a valley between Annapurna and Dhaulagiri. She has lived in this village her entire life. I met and photographed her squatting in the doorway of her stone house one early morning. Very few generations in Nepal remain so routed in their sense of geographic place, belonging so deeply to their land and community, living the ways handed down to them and breathing their traditions. It's a privilege to capture such elders.
