Gnossienne N1 is part of a self portrait photographic series based on recurring dreams over the years, where I explore the topics of death, drowning, sleep paralysis, the loss of loved ones and spiritual guides. This piece is inspired by an experience I had in Cuba many years ago, when I met a "santero" , and he told about a female ancestor who wanted me to do some things she was never able to do when she was alive. This woman had a predilection for classical music and that's how I named the image Gnossienne N1, after Eric Satie's beautiful music piece.
