My name is Allan Andersen, and I am a Scandinavian fine art photographer based by Mariager Fjord on the east coast of Denmark. Living close to the water has shaped both my vision and my way of working. I am drawn to quiet moments where light, horizon and atmosphere meet, often in ways that are easy to overlook until you slow down and really look. Photography for me is about stillness and presence. I use minimalist compositions to reduce the world to its essentials: a single swan moving across calm water, the pastel tones of a fading sunset, or the silence of wooden poles standing in the fjord. These small fragments of nature and everyday life become symbols of something larger — balance, simplicity and a gentle sense of time passing. My background outside photography has taught me clarity and structure, and that discipline shapes my visual language. Every frame I make is carefully considered, both for its technical precision and for the emotion it should carry. My goal is to create images that invite people to pause, reflect and sense the atmosphere of the moment. In 2025 I was named Global Photographer of the Year (Amateur) by the International Awards Associate (IAA) at the Global Photography Awards for my work “Newborn Moon.” My photographs have also been exhibited and recognized internationally, including curated shows in Rome with LoosenArt and at the Glasgow Gallery of Photography, and selections by 1x.com, OneEyeland and YourDailyPhotograph. In Denmark my work has been accepted into Den Nationale and Jyske Fotoudstilling 2025, and received Special Recognition in Exposure Gallery’s Silent Beauty competition. While these recognitions mean a great deal to me, photography remains a personal practice. It is my way of telling quiet stories about light, solitude and the rhythm of the natural world. My intention is simple: to create photographs that feel unhurried, atmospheric and honest — images that leave space for silence and for the viewer’s own thoughts.
