Driving up the "Going to the Sun" road through Glacier National Park in Montana, the views had been mostly obscured by heavy cloud cover. We finally broke through for a few fleeting moments and a window opened up onto this surreal scene illustrating the power and beauty of high mountain vistas. It brought to mind Superman's fortress of solitude, his earthly home somewhere at the top of the world.
